The damaging effects of UV rays
With gas prices rising at the same pace as the thermometers mercury and everyone starting to show some skin again, it can only mean one thing; Summer’s Here! And it’s with that thought in mind that the artist’s at Pikes Peak Tattoo would like to take a moment and remind everyone about the damaging effects of UV Rays on their tattoos.
While Ultraviolet Light, aka “The Sun”, contains many beneficial and necessary life-sustaining elements, it also tends to cause massive damage to your body art as well.
We know that people are proud of their tattoos and want to show the world, but as with any investment (yes, a tattoo is an investment) you should also want to maintain it and keep it safe as well, plus think about it, would you display a Picasso in the sun? So here are some tips to help keep your tattoos as pristine and colorful as they originally were.
- Don’t go in the sun.
- Cover up your tattoos (Clothing)
- Apply Sunscreen & Cover up your tattoos (Uncle Bud Method)
- Use SPF 30 thru 50 Sunblock (Reapply every few hours)
- Don’t go in the sun.
